My second favorite lasagne

If I can't have my favorite lasagne, my mom's, then this is what I make!

The recipe is from Kraft Kitchens

Simply Lasagne
Prep time 20 minutes
Total time: 1 hour, 50 minutes

Ingredients:
2 C ricott cheese (or cottage cheese)
2 1/2 C Shredded Mozarella cheese, divided
1/2 C grated parmesan cheese, divided
1/4 C chopped fresh parsley (or sprinkle dried)
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 can (680 mL) of your favorite pasta sauce (I usually use the No Name or PC brand)
1 lb lean ground beef,  brownded and drained
1 1/2 C water
12 lasagne noodles, uncooked. I usually use the oven-ready, but forgot one time and used regular and there was no difference.

1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Mix ricotta cheese, 11/4 C mozarella cheese, 1/4 C parmesan cheese, parsley, and egg until well blended. Set aside.

2. Pour pasta sauce into meat in frying pan. Pour water* into empty sauce can, cover and shake well. Pour into pan, stir until well mixed. (Yields about 5 C of sauce).

3. Place 1 C of meat sauce on bottom of 13" x 9" baking dish.

4. Layer 3 noodles on top of sauce followed by 1/3 of ricotta mixture and then 1 C of meat sauce. Repeat 2 more times. Top with remaining 3 noodles and sauce.

5. Sprinkle with remaining 1 1/4 C mozarella cheese and 1/4 C parmesan. Cover tightly with greased ti foil (keeps cheese from sticking). Bake 1 hour or until cooked through.

6. Remove foil and bake an additonal 15 minutes or until bubbling. Let stand 15 minutes before cutting for easier serving.

Makes 12 servings.

*the water allows you to use every last bit of sauce and helps cook the noodles.
