My first teaching was Oct 4 with a full day of grade 1. It was great!
I also taught a half day this week, with just 4 students - awesome!
.
Oct 2 to Oct 8 was International Breastfeeding Week and I am a volunteer for a breastfeeding support group, Nourri-Source, so we had a lot of activites planned this week.
I participated in a brunch and a "Maman-poussette" (cardio walk/workout with baby).
We had a good turnout for virtually all of our events - thank you Mommies and Volunteers!
SynVisc - Oct
I had 2 injections of SynVisc in my knee to improve movement and reduce pain from bone-on-bone friction. The first injection provided relief!! The second provided an allergic reaction!! I woke up with my knee like a melon. Turns out ~5% of patients have a reaction. So the third and final treatment of SynVisc was out of the question.

My knee was pretty much at it`s worst and I needed a cane to get around and a month of anti-inflammatories. Driving was out of the question for a couple of weeks.
October 25th: 4th day of anti-inflammatories, woke up with the worst headache I've ever had, knee still very swollen.
.
I couldn't drive, so I couldn't take Darcy to daycare. There I was alone with an energetic 2 year old, a bum knee, and a head that exploded like fireworks every time I sat up, plus people coming to see my mom's car, which was parked in my driveway with a for sale sign.
.
Finally at noon, after bending down to help Darcy get her pull-up on and having explosions in my brain when I stood up, I gave in and burst into tears. I got my mom to come out and help me. I called the pharmacy and the doctor...I was told it sounded like a migraine and it shouldn't be related to the medication, as it's prescribed FOR migraines! Weird. Finally around supper time it eased up and has not come back (touch wood!).
